Sometimes, a person may feel a strong sense of faith, and yet simultaneously, feel that s/he is in great need for salvation.  These two feelings are not contradicting.  On contrary, this is the essence of emuna:  feeling secure and yet feeling totally dependent on Hashem's continuing support.
